Spiritual & Compassionate Support
IMANI partners with local churches and other faith organizations to keep interfaith dialogue and activities vibrant. We strongly believe that the present global Interfaith Dialogue initiatives will have an even greater role in building bridges between all the faith traditions as we work harder to identify and eliminate the ever present rhetoric of distrust, aversion and fear.
IMANI also believes that the combined endeavors of the three Abrahamic faiths coupled with other faith traditions can effect a positive impact since the aggregate of all these faiths represents a significant percentage of the global population. Furthermore, supporting inclusivity and diversity is now understood – more than ever – as an inextricable building block, fundamental to humanity’s ability to survive. Finally, the preservation of global peace is a collective responsibility that cannot be avoided by any faith, creed or culture.
“Compassion is no longer an option—it is the key to our survival. If our religious and ethical traditions fail to address these challenges, they will fail the test of our time.” – Karen Armstrong, “Compassion: An Urgent Global Imperative”
In a universe full of mystery religions and spiritual traditions have provided humankind with a variety of paths to personal enlightenment and teachings for developing relationships communities outside of ourselves. We all share a common thread about how to relate to other human beings—our mothers and fathers, our families, our communities, as well as the strangers beyond our boundaries.
